Qualifications of Applicants
- To be eligible for international admission, the applicant and both of their parents must have obtained foreign citizenship before the applicant entered high school. (The term 'parents' refers to the biological or adoptive father and mother but does not include stepparents).
- If either of the applicant’s parents has passed away or are divorced, supporting official documents must be submitted.
- If the applicant or either of their parents has a Korean background, applicant must provide official documentation verifying the renunciation or loss of Korean citizenship. Document must specify the fact and date of the loss of Korean citizenship.
One is NOT qualified to apply as an international student, if
- He/She acquired a foreign citizenship by foreign adoption after entering middle school. - He/She holds a Korean citizenship with a dual citizenship of another country. - He/She or either of the parents holds Korean citizenship as of the application deadline.
Language Proficiency Qualifications
1. Completed Level 1 or higher at Hongik International Language Institute.
2. TOPIK Level 1 or higher (Test of Proficiency in Korean)
